Meet The Candidate: Fred Thompson

So Fred Thompson has finally done what we always assumed he was going to do. He's officially throwing his hat into the race for the Republican nomination for the presidency. He announced his plans on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. This should prove to be pretty interesting.

Thompson is not just a star of 'Law and Order', he is also a former senator from Tennessee. It will be interesting to see whether or not the Republican's conservative base will embrace him or not. I personally don't think a lot of conservatives are going to be able to get over his 'trophy' wife. I don't think people are going to see her as First Lady material, but we shall see. This is going to be one of the most interesting presidential races in a long time.
