I wish I was making this up, but sometimes life is more dramatic than fiction. Racism is a fact in this country and until we confront it with utter truth we will never get over this divisive factor that runs rampant in this country. America will never reach it's full potential of greatest until it heals the bleeding and festering wounds of it's past.
JENA, La. — Some Nationalist Movement protesters planning to march through Jena on Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be armed, according to their spokesman. The Mississippi-based Nationalist Movement, which describes itself as "pro-majority," organized the rally to be held Monday. The group plans to protest the celebration of the slain civil rights leader and the support that six black Jena teens charged with beating a white classmate have received.
"We will be armed," spokesman Richard Barrett, a Mississippi lawyer, said on Monday. "We have a court order that says (the town of Jena) cannot interfere with this event. There is no ban. If they want to bring it back to court, fine."
His remarks contradicted statements by the Nationalist Movement's local lawyer after a court ruling last Friday that paved the way for the "Jena Justice Day" rally and march.
On Wednesday, opponents of the Nationalist Movement's planned parade urged people to take a stand against racism by opposing Monday's march. (Source)
