Who In The Hell Left The Gate Open?

Can someone please tell me what the hell Gov. Rod Blagojevich (Illinois) was thinking? This greedy fool was trying to auction off Obama's seat to the highest bidder. We are talking about one of the most watched vacant senate seats and Blagojevich actually thought he could get away with auctioning it off. Now if that ain't gangsta then I don't know what gangsta is. I don't know what is going on with the governors of Illinois. First Gov. George Ryan is convicted on raceteering and fraud charges and now you have Blagojevich and his chief of staff acting a fool. Of course people are going to try and correlate this latest scandal to Obama even though the governor has been under investigation for the past few years. This latest event is only a culmination of the case that federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald had been building against him.

Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, are being charged with one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and another count of solicitation of bribery.

Blagojevich was alledgedly trying to sell or trade Obama's vacant senate seat in exhange for benefit for himself and his wife.

The arrest of the governor does however leave the appointment of Obama's successor up in the air. I'm pretty sure Jesse Jr. and Tammy Duckworth are setting on pins and needles. I wonder if either one of them made a offer on the seat. If Blagojevich had been smart he would have just appointed himself to the seat and called it a day.

This is a damn shame on massive proportions!!!!!

****UPDATE 3:45 pm EST

Things might be looking a little better for Obama, but it may be a little shaky for Jesse Jr. and all the other candidates. Let's just hope the candidates weren't willing to wheel and deal with the governor but then again this is politics we're talking about so there's no point in being hopeful.

The Illinois senate needs to call a special election and allow the citizens of Illinois to appoint the replacement to President elect Obama.
