The death of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his mistress Sahel Kazemi "clearly points to a murder-suicide," according to police at a press conference Wednesday in Nashville."Steve McNair was murdered by Sahel Kazemi," chief Ronal Serpas told reporters, adding McNair was likely asleep when he died while seated on the sofa.
After four shots into McNair, Kazemi, 20, positioned herself on the sofa next to him and shot herself in the side of the head, according to Serpas. He said there was no gunshot residue evidence on McNair's hands and there were no signs of a struggle.
"We believe it was likely Kazemi shot Mr. McNair and he didn't know," Serpas said.
The chief described Kazemi as "distraught" in the final days of her life. She told friends her life was "all messed up" and she was "going to end it all" before the incident.
Kazemi was also stressed about having two car payments, a roommate who was moving out and recent suspicions that McNair, who had a wife, was seeing someone else. (Source)
